What's CITY Talking About?
🏀 Sixers to Fund Arena Proposal Impact Study
The Sixers will fund two parts of the city’s impact study of the team’s $1.3 billion arena proposal on East Market Street. The money will go to a city-run economic development agency, which will hire consultants for the study. But some local advocates argue that any involvement from the team will make the study untrustworthy. The Sixers will have no input in the evaluation process, according to the agency. The study will look at how the arena will influence economics, building design, and the community, in particular Chinatown, the closest residential neighborhood. [Inquirer 🔒]
