Philly’s Controversial New School Shooter Training
Sadly, Philly schools must prepare for active shooting emergencies. For years, students and staff were taught to enter lockdown. But now the School District of Philadelphia is rolling out a new training known as ALICE - Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate.
It’s meant to give students and teachers more ways to respond, but critics say it could cause more harm than good. Host Trenae Nuri talks with freelance reporter Eden MacDougall about what’s driving this change and why the new training is controversial.
Have a great day, friend.
