Rise and shine! Let’s kick off the new week with gusto, like the “Golden Bachelor” contestant from Delco would surely do. You’ll know what I mean by the end of this newsletter.

What's CITY Talking About?
Rite Aid Closing 10 More Philly Stores
The Philadelphia-based pharmacy chain, which recently filed for bankruptcy, detailed plans to close 154 more locations nationwide in a court filing. CBS has the full list, which includes 10 stores in Philadelphia. In the wake of the news, Rite Aid sought to assure customers it would keep the rest of its stores open, announcing it had obtained $3.45 billion in new financing. [CBS News]
Delco Woman Charms the Golden Bachelor
One of the contestants of ABC’s “The Golden Bachelor” is bringing big Delco energy to the seniors edition of the hit reality show. Susan Noles, 66, of Aston, injected some rambunctious joie de vivre to the latest episode, where she played pickleball and taught fellow contestants how to play “Never Have I Ever.” She also appears to be moving up in the rankings as the field narrows to six women. Fetterman Gets Pushback for Pro-Israel Stance
Protestors, backed by progressive Jewish groups, rallied outside Sen. John Fetterman’s (D-Pa.) Philadelphia offices last week to demand he support a ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas. Fetterman, like most lawmakers in Washington, has been a staunch supporter of Israel since the violence broke out. He was elected with strong support from progressives, some of whom now say they are disappointed with his stance on the conflict. [Inquirer]

Philly Chatter: Your Favorite Eats
We asked you, our Hey Philly readers, to share a recent meal out that delighted you and you all delivered! Let’s dive in:
932 S 10th Street
“Literally all the food was soooo good and on top of that everyone working there was so nice and appropriately attentive. I loved it there because I felt as though I was eating fancy in a comfortable setting. The best of both worlds. We tried the: Chance’s fried chicken wings, pork sisig, adobong sitaw, and garlic jasmine rice. It was delicious!” said Hey Philly reader Olivia J.
7152 Germantown Avenue
“My friend and I both LOVED the white bean ceviche at Bar Lizette in Mt. Airy. They have a lot of small plates so we shared a few … I can’t recall the other plates b/c the ceviche was such a home run (gotta keep the Phillies in mind!),” said Jennifer C.
Mobile food truck
“Last weekend I had a brisket cheesesteak and roast pork sandwich from 2StreetSammies food truck. Nate makes the perfect Philly food and it’s totally delicious! He was at Wissahickon Brewery but travels — worth a follow online and to whatever location he goes to!” said Britt P.-B.

705 S 5th Street/533 N 22nd Street
“My favorite things were the Traffic Lights rolls, the Lost rolls, the chirashi, and the sashimi. Not only was the food delicious, the presentation was really lovely,” said Marie-Jeanne F.
2000 Hamilton Street, Unit 106
“Unit Su Vege recently blew my mind. So flavorful, so fresh, and so freeing (as a vegetarian) to know I can eat anything on the menu! I'd recommend it for veg and non-veg diners alike–it wasn't just good veg food, it was good food,” said Claire S.
1600 Fairmount Avenue
“Cameron's Seafood Restaurant has by far the best crab cakes in Philadelphia and the lobster bisque as well as the crab gumbo. It's a must try. I cannot wait to revisit this place soon,” said reader Barbara S.

Can One Person Close a Philly Charter School?

School closures are not unusual in Philly, but what happened recently at the Math, Civics and Sciences Charter School in Callowhill is. Parents and students got a shock when the school’s founder, Veronica Joyner, announced she was retiring and closing the school at the end of the academic year. Joyner said no one else could fill her shoes, and that she was "insulted" that the School District of Philadelphia had only extended the school's charter for one year. Host Trenae Nuri speaks with Maddie Hanna, education reporter at the Philadelphia Inquirer, about what went down.
I still haven’t tried pickleball, but now I can’t help but feel inspired to pick up a paddle. Have a great Monday, Philly.
