Philly’s Unique “Colored Girls Museum” Threatened

Germantown’s one-of-a-kind museum for art inspired by the lives of ordinary Black women, The Colored Girls Museum, is threatened with closure for a zoning violation. It had been operating in a residentially-zoned townhouse owned by Vashti DuBois since 2015 without being cited for a violation until a recent 311 complaint attracted the city’s attention. The museum will argue for a zoning variance in a hearing this week. [WHYY]
