📄 Boyle Arrest Warrant Withdrawn

  • Boyle’s seat in the Pennsylvania House is in play on today’s ballot. He’s facing a Democratic primary opponent, Sean Dougherty, and two Republicans are also competing for their party’s nomination. [City Cast Philly 🎧]

🔍 Homelessness Services Investigation Update

Philly’s inspector general released preliminary findings yesterday from an ongoing investigation into the city’s Office of Homelessness Services. 💵 Philly To Receive $110 Million from Walgreens

Last week, Walgreens and the City of Philadelphia settled a 2021 suit that accused the company of contributing to the opioid crisis by allegedly failing to report or investigate suspicious opioid orders. Walgreens denied liability. Its payments to the city over the next five years will go toward drug education, treatment, and prevention efforts in Philly neighborhoods. [PhillyVoice]

🫥 Did You Notice Philadelphia Disappear from Facebook?

There was a glitch on Facebook last week where “Philadelphia, Pennsylvania” disappeared from the profiles of people who’d marked it as their hometown or current city, and no one could add it back. It’s unclear why it happened to us and no other big city, but a Meta spokesperson told Philly Mag yesterday, “youse don’t have to worry, this jawn is now fixed.” [Philly Mag 🔒]

Oh, also — did you hear that Jellyroll (a Delco-based wedding band) is suing Jelly Roll (the country singer)? I can’t say either’s music is really my jam, but I’m berry interested to see where this lawsuit goes.
