As of Sunday evening, pro-Palestinian protesters remained camped out at the University of Pennsylvania, Swarthmore, and Bryn Mawr, the latter absorbing protesters from Haverford as well. A jury decided last week that James Dennis, a Philadelphian whose murder conviction was overturned in 2013 after spending 25 years on death row, is owed a total of $16 million in damages from the city and two detectives who engaged in misconduct. [Inquirer 🔒]

⚖️ Jury Deadlocks in Johnny Doc Extortion Trial
The judge declared a mistrial in the federal trial of former union leader John Dougherty and his nephew, Greg Fiocca, after the jury could not agree on a verdict. The two had been charged with conspiracy and extortion and pleaded not guilty. [PhillyVoice]
🎒 Masterman Is #4 Public High School Nationwide
Julia R. Masterman Secondary School, one of Philly’s public magnet schools, made it into the top five on U.S. News and World Report’s national “Best High Schools” list. Masterman was the top school in Pennsylvania, and Central High School ranked #6 on that list. [Business Journal 🔒]
