🌉 Wissahickon Bridges Get Federal Funding

The city is getting $14 million from a Bipartisan Infrastructure Law program to do renovations on the Valley Green Road Bridge in Wissahickon Valley Park and the Bells Mill Bridge near Morris Arboretum, which will help protect them from future floods. [WHYY]

🏢 Recovery Center Planned in Fairmount

The city will reportedly expand services at an existing homeless shelter site on Girard Avenue. The mayor’s office hasn’t offered further details, but sources told the Inquirer that the facility could open as soon as Wednesday, would hold dozens of people, and would provide services including treatment for skin damage caused by xylazine (AKA “tranq”). 💰 New Fine for Parked Cars with Tinted Windows

Mayor Cherelle Parker signed an ordinance this week that will create a $100 fine for parked vehicles with “sun screening devices” — i.e., tinted windows that don’t comply with Pennsylvania state law. [NBC10]
