Northeast Philly could eventually be home to a marina and entertainment complex along the Delaware River, north of the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge. 🦝 The Union’s New Furry Friend

Oddly-specific history was made in Chester’s Subaru Park on Wednesday. A raccoon invaded the soccer pitch during the Philadelphia Union’s game against New York City FC, stopping play for 161 seconds — the longest a raccoon has ever been on the field in Major League Soccer history, according to the league. Parking Crackdown, Biden Loses Ground in PA & Police Watchdog's New Boss

It’s the Friday News Roundup! Today’s discussion on the City Cast Philly podcast covers the Philadelphia Parking Authority’s ADA Mobility Access Initiative, how President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are polling in Pennsylvania, and the priorities of the new executive director of the Citizens Police Oversight Commission.

My final Friday thought: I loved this piece in the Inquirer about Smith Playground in Fairmount Park and this week’s “Abbott Elementary” episode, which was set there (but not filmed there). (Beware spoilers in the article.) I love how the show has managed to highlight some of Philly’s gems!

Have a wonderful weekend.
