What's CITY Talking About?

💰 Reparations Task Force Gets off the Ground
The nine members of Philly’s Reparations Task Force were introduced earlier this week ahead of their first public meeting. The group will conduct research and engage with the public, then put together a report recommending how the city could implement a reparations program that serves Black Philadelphians’ needs. 🏛️ Boyle Returns to State House
Northeast Philly state Rep. Kevin Boyle made his return to the Capitol building in Harrisburg earlier this week, after time away that included a rescinded arrest warrant, his own political party taking steps toward expelling him, and a primary election loss. Boyle’s security privileges, which had been revoked in February after he had an outburst in a bar, have been reestablished. [Inquirer 🔒]
☀️ Philly Could See a Hot Summer
Some coming storms are expected to help cool the city down ahead of the weekend. But looking further ahead, National Weather Service predictions point toward higher than normal temperatures over the next few months. [Axios Philadelphia]

The Best Patios, Breweries, and Rooftop Dining in Philly
Summer’s right around the corner, which means that it’s the perfect time to eat outside! City Cast Philly podcast host Trenae Nuri speaks with City Cast Philly food contributor Dave Wez (@feedingtimetv) about the best places to eat and drink al fresco, from patios and sidewalk cafes to breweries and rooftop bars.

The Inquirer put out a fun little interactive survey yesterday to take the city’s pulse on a somewhat controversial topic: where South Philly starts. In my (apparently unpopular) opinion, it’s Fitzwater Street.
Enjoy your Thursday!
