🗳️ Biden Back in Philly This Week

Just a week after Vice President Kamala Harris was last in the city, Pres. Joe Biden is scheduled to visit Philly tomorrow for another campaign event. It will be Biden’s fifth visit to southeastern Pennsylvania this year. [Pennsylvania Capital-Star]

  • The Keystone State has been a strong campaign focus for Biden this year as he and former Pres. Donald Trump gear up for a rematch in November. But recent polling shows Biden losing some ground here. [City Cast Philly 🎧]

Rep. Dwight Evans Recovering from Stroke

The U.S. House member who represents much of West and Northwest Philly announced last week that he is recovering from a minor stroke at an inpatient rehabilitation facility. He expects to return to Washington in about six weeks. [KYW]

🏠 Eviction Diversion Program Could Become Permanent

City Council has signaled that it will vote to continue the pandemic-era city program, which requires that landlord/tenant disputes be resolved outside of court. As it stands now, the diversion program is scheduled to expire at the end of next month. [WHYY]

🦌 Deer Hunting Coming to Northeast Philly

We’re revisiting a conversation from earlier this year between City Cast Philly podcast host Trenae Nuri and comedian and writer Alan Massenburg, who grew up in West Philly, about these regional differences and which turns of phrase let you know someone is really from here.
