What's CITY Talking About?

🧷 ‘Diaper Crew’ Dismantled

Police announced Friday that they had arrested and charged three members of a group they’ve dubbed the “diaper crew,” and a fourth suspect is expected to turn himself in. 🪦 What’s Next for Mount Vernon Cemetery?

The largely neglected North Philly graveyard — where no new plots have been sold since the 1960s — is now on the market for $1 million. If it doesn’t sell, the nonprofit Mt. Vernon Cemetery Conservation Company will buy it for $1, with plans to fix it up and hopefully use it as a public green space in the future. [PhillyVoice]

What Philly’s Nightlife Needs, According to Our ‘Night Mayor’

That’s why the Philadelphia Department of Commerce created a new job in 2022: the Night Time Economy Director, aka the city’s “Night Mayor.” We’re revisiting a conversation with Philly Night Mayor Raheem Manning about his role and the needs of the businesses and people who keep our city going from sundown to sunrise.

BTW, here’s the Taylor Swift song I mentioned in the intro. It’s a bop! (Reading that Inky article sent me down a “Red (Taylor’s Version)” rabbit hole.)

Enjoy your Monday!
