🦅 Your favorite holiday songbirds are back
September 4, 2024 · — Asha Prihar
Good morning, friends! Can you believe we’re halfway to the weekend already?
📝 BTW, it seems like a lot of you (84%) got tripped up on the question about Labor Day weekend traffic on last week’s news quiz. Special shout out to Christal W. and Bnay, the two perfect scorers who prevailed in spite of the tricky questions!

What's CITY Talking About?
🎅 Eagles Christmas Album, Pt. 3
Boyz II Men, Devon Gilfillian, and Travis Kelce (but not Taylor Swift, sadly) will join Jason Kelce, Jordan Mailata, and Lane Johnson on “A Philly Special Christmas Party” — the Eagles trio’s third set of holiday tunes, due out Nov. 29. [CBS3]
🤖 SEPTA Payment Glitches
During yesterday’s morning commute, SEPTA’s payment system crashed for the third time in the past month. The transit agency has yet to find out what’s causing the issues or how to stop it from happening again. [KYW]
✉️ Ballot Counts Could Be Long … Again
Pennsylvania’s ballot-counting process for the presidential election could drag on again this year, though likely not to the same extent as in 2020. County election officials have been lobbying for more time before Election Day to prepare mail ballots to be counted (a process called “precanvassing”), but state lawmakers haven’t budged. 🍁 Philly Fall Festival Lineup
Who doesn’t love a street festival? Now through mid-October, there’s at least one (if not more) happening every weekend. [Philly Mag 🔒]

Where Is It?

It’s time for our weekly local art location game! This is the segment where I show you a photo of some of Philly’s public art, and you tell me where in the city you can find it. Let’s start by reviewing last week’s art, pictured above.
📍 Answer: You can find this mural at 6th & Spring Garden in Northern Liberties. “Wide Open” by Jim Houser, a local artist, was completed in December 2019. According to Mural Arts, the painting “features a design that speaks directly to the artist’s view of Philadelphia.”
⭐ Gold stars for all the Hey Philly readers who kept their eyes wide open when they’ve passed this mural and were able to guess the right location: Kim A., Brandon H., Kelly L., Treshia H., Susan D., Troy R-U, Arfien W., Tyler C., Brianna L., Tim M., and Savannah K.
❓ Ready for this week’s challenge? Tell me if you know where you can find this mural, submitted by Hey Philly reader TJ J.:

I think I need to start paying more attention to the sky. Apparently, a state senator from Scranton is planning to introduce a bill that would “allow for roadable aircraft — more commonly known as flying cars — to travel both on roadways as a motor vehicle and flown in the airspace as an aircraft.” 🧐
Enjoy your Wednesday!
