I’ve been overthinking something lately: How many syllables are in the word “Pennsylvania”? Is it five (pen-sil-vay-nee-uh)? Or is it four (pen-sil-vay-nyuh)?!? Please let me know your thoughts. I had a minor existential crisis last week when I realized I have no clue about the proper pronunciation of my beloved home state.

Citadel Federal Credit Union, an Exton-based financial institution with 24 suburban locations, will open offices in Philly proper. It’s part of a settlement agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice, which accused Citadel of intentionally avoiding opening branches in low-income Black and Hispanic neighborhoods.
