At the first hearing on the proposed 76ers arena, City Council members raised concerns about the potential impact on SEPTA. They highlighted the impact on Jefferson Station during the construction process and the increased demand for public transportation in Center City if the arena is built. [PhillyVoice]

📝 The End of Krasner v. Musk … for Now
A judge ruled that District Attorney Larry Krasner failed to present sufficient evidence in his lawsuit against Elon Musk. Krasner had argued that Musk's $1 million giveaway to Pennsylvania voters amounted to an illegal lottery. But the judge said that participants did not have to pay to enter, so it cannot be defined as a lottery. [🔒The Inquirer]
🗳️ Casey Goes for a Recount in Senate Race
Incumbent Sen. Bob Casey didn’t waive his right to an automatic recount, clearing the way for one to occur given the close nature of the race. His challenger, Republican Dave McCormick, currently leads by about 30,000 votes with 80,000 ballots left to be counted. [🔒The Inquirer]
🚓 Family of Unarmed Man Killed by Cop Gets Silence from City
Robert Jones was shot and killed by an off-duty Philly homicide detective, Chris Sweeney, on Oct. 3. But little else is known about what happened. The Jones family has yet to hear anything about the status of the investigation into the incident, and they’re speaking out now looking for answers and justice. [🔒The Inquirer]
