What's CITY Talking About?

📱 Philly By The Numbers

Mayor Cherelle Parker’s new Philly Stat 360 website has regularly updated statistics on everything from on-time trash pick-up to homicides to the number of miles of new bike lanes. We love the transparency, and we hope all the data – even unflattering data – is updated regularly. [Philly Stat 360, WHYY]

🏟️ Commence Operation Sixers Arena

It’s official. Despite the anti-arena protesters who amassed at City Hall, City Council voted 12-5 to approve the bills that cleared the way for a new Sixers arena in Center City. 📖 The Philly Teen Making a Difference

Amelia Fletcher, an eighth grader, noticed children in Kensington standing with their parents waiting for free food, clothing, and medical supplies. So Fletcher decided to set up “a little library” to read and play with these kids. She wanted to give the children some moments of happiness while also giving the parents a break. [PhillyVoice]
