Good morning, Philly! Did you ever go to Build-A-Bear Workshop as a kid or take your own kids? What if you could Build-A-Gritty? The NHL Mascot of the Year now has his own official store at the Wells Fargo Center where you can not only buy Gritty-themed merch, but stuff your own “Itty Bitty Gritty.”

🚨 ICE Raids Philly Car Wash
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained seven individuals at a car wash in Juniata Park on Wednesday. Immigration justice group Juntos said this is the first verified report of an ICE raid under the Trump administration in Philadelphia, after rumors swirled earlier this week. [NBC10, CBS Philly]
⚖️ Coercive Tactics Take Precedence Over Reform
Although District Attorney Larry Krasner ran on a platform that promised to “treat kids like kids,” the amount of Philadelphia youth jailed while awaiting trial has only increased. While proposals for reform have been swept aside, tactics such as requiring youth to plead guilty in order to transfer to juvenile court and discouraging prosecutors from offering diversion deals have become routine. In a 130-100 vote, workers at the Center City Whole Foods voted to form a union at the Amazon-owned grocer. While the National Labor Relations Board still needs to certify the results, this puts the Philly store on track to becoming the first unionized Whole Foods in the country. [WHYY, More Perfect Union]

Where to Find Last-Minute Eagles Merch

As you gear up for Super Bowl watch parties across the city, you definitely want to look the part. If you don’t already have Eagles merch in your closet, you may be scrambling to find something left in store. Luckily, there are a few businesses in the Philly area that you can rely on to make sure you’re lookin’ fly (like an Eagle).
Art History 101
This Mayfair business went from operating in a basement to establishing and running a brick-and-mortar in 2010. Located on 7045 Frankford Avenue, Art History 101 is inspired by owner and founder Jay Pross’s art background and uses graffiti-style designs. Notable Eagles players who’ve worn the merch include Jordan Mailata, Lane Johnson, and Alshon Jeffery.
Chestnut Hill Sports
Just right off SEPTA’s Chestnut Hill West station is this quaint neighborhood shop. Although not physically large in size, Chestnut Hill Sports has a great selection of merchandise for many Philly sports teams. The shop also goes beyond team merch and also sells sneakers, cleats, and sporting equipment.
Cracked Bell
Based in Hatfield, Cracked Bell offers a variety of merchandise that appeals to sports, pop culture, and Philly enthusiasts alike. Under its “pigskin” collection, you can find shirts such as “Tush Push” or “Mr. 2000.” Because this store is online, be sure to give yourself enough days for your order to process and ship.
Forbidden Closet Vintage
This South Philly vintage store experienced a setback late last year, but that hasn’t stopped Forbidden Closet Vintage from collecting and selling cool vintage merchandise. The storefront on 1515 McKean Street has a range of clothing to select from and is open for walk-ins between Wednesday and Sunday.
Kulb Designs
Serving the community since the 1990s, this Bridesburg screenprinter has you covered with long-sleeve and short-sleeve shirts to represent the Eagles. Kulb Designs has 2025 Conference Champs shirts to choose from in either Kelly green or black and you can even wear your new favorite Eagles chant!
