February 13, 2025 · — Siani Colón

Good morning, Philly! Just one more sleep until the big day. We have you covered below with Eagles parade logistics, how to get the most out of your experience if you’re heading down, and advice for staying safe.

One thing I hope I don’t see (or step on) along the parade route is dog poo. Philly, this is getting out of hand. On today’s episode of City Cast Philly, we’re throwing it back with a discussion of the city’s dog culture, their increased presence in stores, and how humans and pets can live in peace.

What's CITY Talking About?

😷 Skip the Parade if You’re Sick

If you have the sniffles or are experiencing a cough, please stay home and take care of yourself. Flu cases are the highest in 15 years in Philly and across the country, possibly because of all the Super Bowl parties last weekend. There have been 24 million cases nationwide so far this flu season. [CBS Philly]

🚴 Road to Nowhere

An expansion to the Schuylkill River Trail is potentially on hold as the project sits in the crosshairs of President Trump’s executive orders on federal funding. The $14 million in funding would connect pedestrians and cyclists from Manayunk and Passyunk Avenue to the trail, bypassing dangerous vehicular intersections. [Grid Magazine]

💚 A.J. Brown Keeps His Promise

Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown surprised 10-year-old Andre Howard, who was injured and required brain surgery after a plane crashed onto Cottman Avenue two weeks ago. Upon waking up, the boy asked if he missed the Super Bowl – and if he had protected his sister during the crash. Brown visited him at CHOP and brought along the Lombardi trophy. 💰 Penn Medicine Just Got An Eye-Popping Financial Gift

Catherine Clifton, scion of the family behind the Comcast Corporation, and her husband, Anthony, donated more than $100 million to advance patient care, research, and education at Penn Medicine. And so the Penn Pavilion patient tower will be renamed The Clifton Center for Medical Breakthroughs. [🔒Philadelphia Business Journal]

Everything You Need To Know About Friday’s Super Bowl Parade

Get ready to party, Philly! The Eagles are once again taking over the streets to celebrate the Super Bowl win. If you plan to watch the parade, here’s what to expect on Friday.

The Route

The parade will begin at 11 a.m. at the NovaCare complex by the intersection of Broad Street and Pattinson Avenue. Open-air buses carrying the team will head north on Broad Street until City Hall. Then the buses will round the bend at Love Park to make their way down the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, with a final stop in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

The ceremony in front of the museum is expected to begin at 2 p.m. and conclude by 3:15 p.m.

How to Get There

Walking is probably your best option if you live within a reasonable distance from the parade route. If you’re driving, expect multiple road closures in Center City. For a full list of closures, click here.

If you’re coming from further out, consider public transportation. SEPTA’s Market-Frankford Line (L) and Broad Street Line (B) will be free thanks to a sponsorship from Kevin Hart’s tequila brand, but it will be making limited stops.
