🗳️ Key storylines in Philly’s DA race
March 12, 2025 · — Siani Colón
Mornin’, Philly! Did you go to your high school prom? I skipped my junior and senior proms (I don’t really regret it, though). If your prom outfits are still tucked away in the back of your closet, The Wardrobe is collecting donations of formal attire to help students make their prom dreams come true. 👗

On today’s politics episode, Trenae is joined by City Cast Philly politics contributor Lauren Vidas to break down the storylines in Philly’s primary election for district attorney coming up this May. [🎧 City Cast Philly]

💰 What Do You Think Should Go in the City’s Budget?
City Hall wants to hear from you. Philadelphia City Council released the schedule for 13 hearings on the upcoming municipal budget. Several city departments will appear before council throughout the process. Public comment for the school district is on April 30 and general public comment is scheduled for May 13 and 14. ⛲ What Will Be Ed Rendell’s Legacy Project?
A new monument to mark the USA’s 250th birthday next year was expected, but plans are lacking. Former Philadelphia mayor and Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell wants a new monument at LOVE Park, but city leaders aren’t on board. [🔒The Inquirer]
🚧 If You’re Driving Into Center City, Good Luck
City Avenue isn’t the only roadway getting work done in the coming months. As the weather heats up, roadwork ramps up. On Monday, work will begin on the Market Street Bridge near 30th Street with a year-long closure to come in 2026. Later this month, the Market Street I-95 South ramp will close for two weeks. 🌼 Take Over the Streets This Spring
Driving may be a mess, but you can still get around on foot. The Center City District announced Tuesday that its Open Streets: West Walnut series will be back this spring! Every Sunday between April 6 and 27, you can hang out and support local businesses in a car-free environment. [Center City District]
