What's CITY Talking About?
🛣️ Is I-95 Helping or Hurting Communities?
The construction of I-95 may have connected drivers from one destination to another, but Philadelphians living in the neighborhoods below it saw their communities torn apart. More than 60 years later, PennDOT wants to widen the highway and add new ramps over a youth sports field. [🔒Philly Mag]
🏫 CCP Union Authorizes Strike
The faculty union at the Community College of Philadelphia is one step closer to striking after 97% of members who participated in the vote were in favor. The union and college have yet to negotiate a deal after the last contract expired in August. ATF Local 2026 demands SEPTA passes for students and staff, more staffing, and pay raises. [KYW]

🚆 New SEPTA Schedules Aim To Reduce Delays
The hour on the clock wasn’t the only thing that changed this month. SEPTA’s new Regional Rail schedules went into effect. The changes include increasing time between Regional Rail and Amtrak trains, adding 31 assistant conductors, and using newer rail cars at peak commuting times. [Metro Philly]
