Get out and vote! Today’s finally Election Day in Philadelphia. Remember that polls close at 8 p.m. Look out tomorrow morning for our coverage of the results and hear us analyze it all with several local reporters at a live recording of City Cast Philly on May 29.
And once you’re done waiting in line for the polls, you can spend time waiting in line for membership to this exclusive South Philly social club. If you’re a member, could you bring me as a guest? 👀

What's CITY Talking About?
🚙 Skip TSA and Take a Trip Around PA
Since Memorial Day’s just around the corner, why not take a trip outside the city to somewhere in Pennsylvania? You won’t have to worry about airfare (or delays, or cancelled flights, or Real ID). On this episode of City Cast Philly, we’re giving you recommendations on the best day trips just a few hours outside Philly. [🎧 City Cast Philly]

🕳️ Which Philly Neighborhood Has the Worst Potholes?
While you’re traveling out of town, be mindful of those potholes. I placed a 311 request in my neighborhood and several traffic cones later, the hole is still there and getting larger. It’s not just me; from May 2024 to May 2025, Philly residents filed 6,000 complaints to 311 about potholes. Center City takes the lead in complaints, while Kensington and North Philadelphia East follow closely behind. [🔒 The Inquirer]

🤍 Mother of On-Ground Survivor of Philly Plane Crash Requests Prayers As Recovery Continues
Nine-year-old Ramesses Vazquez Viana continues to recover in Boston after 90% of his body was burned when a medical jet crashed in Northeast Philly back in January. He escaped a burning car; his father and father’s girlfriend did not survive. While no internal organs were damaged, he lost most of his skin and both of his hands were partially amputated. A verified GoFundMe for Ramesses is still active. [CBS Philly, 🎧City Cast Philly]
🏈 Sirianni’s Back for Another Go at the Super Bowl
If news about the Phillies had you starting your week off stressed, here’s some good Birds news to distract you. The Eagles renewed Head Coach Nick Sirianni’s contract. Let’s see if that means we get another Super Bowl win, despite whiny NFL teams trying to ban the tush push. [ESPN, Philadelphia Eagles, NBC Sports Philadelphia]
