📣 City Workers Might Strike Next Week; Here’s What That Means

It appears that contract negotiations bore no fruit, so now District Council 33 intends to go on strike July 1. This means a disruption of service for sanitation collection, health centers, and Water Department repairs, among other work stoppages. [Billy Penn]

🚌 SEPTA Board Approves Major Cuts to Transit Service

With no guarantee the state will step in with additional funding, SEPTA has adopted a budget that will severely reduce service across the public transit system. The first round of service cuts will begin in August with a 21.5% fare increase in September. [🔒 The Inquirer]

🍺 Philly’s Finally Getting a Women’s Sports Bar

Marsha’s, named after transgender trailblazer Marsha P. Johnson, is expected to open on South Street this summer. The new addition to Philly’s bar scene fills a gap in places to celebrate women’s sports.
