Hey there, Philly! I love spending time in the city’s outdoor spaces, and I have the fondest memories at Smith Memorial Playground. Now another generation of kids is preserving their precious memories in a time capsule and interviewing seniors about childhood experiences. 🤍
What happy memories do you have about growing up in Philly? Let me know!

🚏 Seven Days To Go Before SEPTA Cuts
SEPTA’s ready to move forward with its proposed service cuts if there is no new funding in the state budget by Aug. 14. Meanwhile Republican State Senate President Kim Ward says legislators should just pass a six-month budget to buy more time. So with this transportation crisis looming over us, on the podcast today we hear from Philadelphians about all the many ways that they get around the city. ⚖️ DOJ Targets Philly for Sanctuary City Policies
The United States Department of Justice released an updated list of “sanctuary jurisdictions” that still lists Philadelphia. The DOJ intends to file lawsuits against those cities, which it says are in violation of federal immigration laws. In May, Philly began calling itself a “welcoming city” instead of “sanctuary city.” [NBC10]
