🗳️ Court allows undated mail ballots in PA
August 28, 2025 · — Siani Colón
Mornin’, Philly! We’ve been talking a lot about how to get around Philadelphia this week, but what about going around its entire perimeter? Walk Around Philly is back for its fall session, connecting neighbors with different parts of the city one step at a time.
If you’re looking for even more things to do in September, we have plenty of recommendations in our events guide below!

What's CITY Talking About?
🗓️ Put These Events on Your Calendar
The unofficial end to summer is almost here, with Labor Day just around the corner, but your good times don’t have to end just because the season is. Philly’s keeping the party going as we transition into the fall with performances from our artists, street festivals, and the return of our world champion Eagles. [🎧 City Cast Philly]

🗳️ Pennsylvania Can’t Throw Out Your Undated Ballots
A federal appeals court ruled that it is unconstitutional for Pennsylvania to reject mail ballots purely on the grounds that they’re undated or misdated. Under a 2019 no-excuse mail voting law, thousands of votes were tossed due to the lack of a proper date. [Votebeat]

🚌 School Attendance Already Hurting Due to SEPTA Cuts
The first wave of SEPTA cuts is hitting students hard, adding another stressor on top of grades and college applications. But relief might soon be on the way as Democrats warm to the idea of tapping the Public Transportation Trust Fund, with conditions. [Chalkbeat, 🔒 The Inquirer]
- Related: Neighbors are stepping up to help each other navigate these cuts. Pentridge Station will have a Carpool Connections table at its Neighborhood Skill Share tonight. And if you need your bike repaired, Philly Bike Oracle is offering free safety checks and discounted services tomorrow at Love Park.
- Let us know how your travels are being impacted by emailing us or leaving a text or voicemail at (215) 259-8170, and maybe we’ll feature your perspective on the pod.
