💬 Krasner preps response to National Guard
September 16, 2025
Good morning, Philly! Did you go out and dance this summer? If you want to step out of your comfort zone and hit the dance floor, The Yard on John Coltrane Street is hosting four weeks of free salsa and merengue classes for beginners.
If that’s not your style, here are other places you can move and groove in Philly 💃

What's CITY Talking About?
🛻 What To Do if You Get Courtesy-Towed
It’s one thing to get your car towed when you know you shouldn’t have parked in front of that garage. It’s another problem entirely when you park your car legally and now no one knows where it is. Due to construction or big events, the city may relocate your car – it’s a practice called “courtesy towing.” But when you park your car legally and no one knows where it is, the act feels far from courteous. 💬 How Should Philly Respond if the National Guard Arrives?
District Attorney Larry Krasner will host a series of town halls today, tomorrow, and Thursday to answer questions and garner resident feedback over the possible deployment of the National Guard to Philadelphia. Although the city has not been mentioned in the Trump administration’s plans yet, takeovers in other U.S. cities have Krasner advising Philly to prepare. [🔒 The Inquirer]
🏠 Look Up Your Neighborhood’s Housing Needs With This Map
A new tool is being employed by City Hall as part of Mayor Parker’s H.O.M.E. initiative to help determine which sections of the city are in most need of housing. But anyone can access the map and see Philly’s housing gaps in order to hold officials accountable. [Philadelphia Citizen]
- Related: Housing is one of Parker’s major priorities. So much so that she’s investing $2 billion in creating and preserving Philly’s housing stock. [🎧 City Cast Philly]
🧑⚖️ National Democrats Turn Eyes (and Dollars) Toward PA Supreme Court Race
The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee is committing six figures to convince voters to keep state Supreme Court Justices Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty, and David Wecht in their seats. All three are up for retention in November’s election. [City and State PA]
