🏛️ The Museum of Art’s fresh look
October 9, 2025 · — Siani Colón
Good morning, Philly! It’s Red October for a little bit longer. The Phillies secured a win last night against the Dodgers, but they need to win these next two games to move onto the NLCS. Do you think they can do it?
Tonight's a busy night for sports. The Phillies play again at 6:08 p.m. The Flyers face the Panthers at 7 p.m. After that, watch the Eagles starting at 8:15 p.m. against the Giants.

What's CITY Talking About?

🐴 Let’s Go to the Rodeo
North Philly will turn into the Wild, Wild West when the 8 Seconds Rodeo takes over the Liacouras Center this Saturday. Visiting Philly for the first time, the rodeo is a tribute to Black rodeo culture. We took a visit to the Dream Park Equestrian Center in New Jersey to learn about what stunts to expect and Philly’s connection to this cowboy legacy. [🎧 City Cast Philly]
🏛️ Philadelphia Museum of Art Art Museum Gets a Makeover
In an effort to overcome a financial deficit and attract new visitors, our art museum has officially rebranded. Now called the Philadelphia Art Museum (PHAM), the institution has a new logo, partnerships with big names like Saquon Barkley, and a revived connection to Rocky Balboa. What do you think about the rebrand? To me, the new logo feels better suited for a soccer team. [🔒 The Inquirer]

🎓 Glitchy Systems and Late Budgets Are Hurting College Students
With lawmakers still at odds over a state budget, students who rely on the PA State Grant Program are scrambling to cover tuition costs. While some institutions are helping by providing emergency grants and loans, those stopgap measures are only temporary. [Spotlight PA]
🚧 Homecoming 250 Navy Marine Corps Events Close Roads
Expect road closures throughout Center City until Oct. 16 as Philly celebrates the anniversary of the U.S. Navy. Band performances, parades, and a suicide prevention walk are among the scheduled events. Additional closures will occur in November due to activities honoring the Marine Corps.
