🗳️ Krasner reelected & Democratic justices retained
November 5, 2025 · — Siani Colón
Good morning, Philly! Voter turnout was predictably low, but yesterday’s election was far from inconsequential. The three Pennsylvania Supreme Court justices up for retention held onto their seats, keeping the state's highest court under Democratic control. And we can report that Larry Krasner has once again beat Pat Dugan in the district attorney’s race, securing a third term.
Tune in to today’s episode of City Cast Philly for the rest of the results and a preview of what’s teed up for next year’s election cycle.

What's CITY Talking About
🏛️ Art Museum Fires CEO
After a controversial rebrand that even blindsided the museum’s own board, PhAM (yeah, I don’t want to call it that, either) CEO Sasha Suda has been terminated “for cause.” Mixed reactions to the rebrand and the rollout itself are speculated to be factors. But in August, some board members expressed discontent with her narrow focus on inclusion, and slow start to fundraising. [🔒 Philly Mag]
🏗️ What Should Philly Do With the Roundhouse?
Philly’s streetscape features unique architecture, and the Roundhouse is certainly among the most notable. The former police headquarters has been closed since 2021, leading preservationists to dream of new uses ranging from art studios to a housing complex to a school. [🎧 City Cast Philly, Billy Penn]
🏨 Hotel Workers Get New Contract Ahead of 2026 Tourism Surge
After a four-day strike, Hampton Inn Philadelphia Center City-Convention Center workers ratified a new contract, promising higher wages, better benefits, and improved work conditions. Hampton Inn employees were among those at eight hotels in Center City operating under expired union contracts. [6ABC]
🧹 Citywide Cleaning Program Is Back
Crews have already begun to clear litter, repair potholes, and address other quality-of-life-issues as part of the latest iteration of the Parker administration’s Clean & Green Initiative. Workers will focus on different sections of the city for the next 13 weeks, starting with Northeast Philly and then the River Wards. [Philly Voice]
