🏫 School district proposes closing 20 schools

January 23, 2026 · — Siani Colón

Y’all, I am not built for this weather. I’m more of a springtime type of gal. Yesterday may have been “warm” (using that term very loosely), but we’re dipping back to bitter cold temperatures this weekend as a major snowstorm prepares to hit the East Coast. Stock up on necessities, bust out those shovels, and stay safe.

Eleven libraries are serving as warming centers during the Code Blue and are collecting donations of food, water, warm clothing, and other supplies to support neighbors in need.

The demolition took 90 minutes. It follows a Trump executive order that flagged displays on the property, where President George Washington enslaved nine people at the time of the country's founding, as “inappropriately disparaging to Americans past or living.” [🔒 The Inquirer, 🎧 City Cast Philly]
