📄 City Council wants to unmask ICE
January 28, 2026 · — Siani Colón
Yo, Philly! When I said I like to ice skate, I meant at one of the city’s rinks, not on our streets and sidewalks. Days out from Sunday’s snowfall, it’s still a little icy out there. That’s why Philly schools are virtual for another day. Here are some tips on how to deice your walkways without harming our waterways by oversalting.

What's CITY Talking About
City Lawmakers Want to Keep ICE Out
Councilmembers Kendra Brooks and Rue Landau introduced legislation yesterday morning that would further restrict U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement actions in the city. Proposed policies include banning federal agents from wearing masks and using city property as staging locations. The announcement came after the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti by ICE agents in Minnesota sparked nationwide protests, including in Philly. [🎧 City Cast Philly, 🎧 City Cast Twin Cities]
