Independence Hall Reopens in Time for Semiquincentennial
Until yesterday, the historic site had been closed since the federal government shutdown on Oct. 1, and necessary maintenance extended the closure. To celebrate the reopening, several nearby historic landmarks and museums will offer deals. [WHYY, Philadelphia Visitors Center]

Customs and Border Protection Installs Advanced Facial Recognition at PHL
U.S. citizens returning from international travel will be scanned by auto-capture cameras with biometric software. CBP said using this facial recognition technology reduces wait times. You can opt out of this technology by telling a CBP officer, who will then direct you through standard processing. [NBC10]
