🚌 SEPTA’s AI cameras issue thousands of tickets
February 11, 2026 · — Siani Colón
These cold temps need to give us a break. The National Weather Service marked the 15th consecutive day that snow depth at PHL was at least 5 inches. You’d think it snowed yesterday, considering that I nearly slipped on ice on a long stretch of sidewalk that is definitely city property. At least the Delaware River finally started to thaw.
Drop pics in our inbox of any absurdly large snowpacks near you that seem to refuse to melt. It’s your new neighborhood sculpture at this point.

Months after SEPTA buses installed cameras to detect vehicles blocking bus lanes, the PPA and the city have made $4.3 million in fines from violators. Data shows a reduction in double parking and bus stop violations since the program launched. Hopefully Waymos will get that memo — one of the driverless cars broke down on Washington Avenue, blocking one lane. [NBC10, Philly Plain Dealer]
