👑 Pat’s goes new-school with its cheesesteaks

February 19, 2026 · — Siani Colón

One thing about Philly, you can’t say there’s nowhere to eat. In fact, because there’s a plethora of quality restaurants in the city, it’s hard to try them all! Restaurant weeks have been a way for diners to explore eateries across Philly at a discounted price, while restaurants get extra traffic during slow seasons. A win-win for everybody, right?

But are restaurant weeks actually good for business, or just your budget?

Federal Judge Sets Deadline To Restore President’s House Exhibits

U.S. District Judge Cynthia Rufe is giving the Trump administration until Friday at 5 p.m. to restore the exhibit after it failed to comply with her earlier ruling. The U.S. Department of the Interior filed an appeal on Monday claiming that the National Park Service intended to install updated panels with a “fuller account on the history of slavery,” but did not share what information would have been included. Where Should Philly’s Bus Terminal Go?

Despite the return of the Filbert Street intercity terminal ahead of the FIFA World Cup, the restoration is only a temporary solution. The city has narrowed down the search to three potential sites in Center City and University City for a permanent home, moving away from problematic curbside service like in Northern Liberties. If you have some ideas, the city wants to hear your feedback. [🎧 City Cast Philly, Billy Penn]

Entering a New Era, Pat’s Breaks Its Own Rules

Nearly a century after Pat’s King of Steaks invented the iconic cheesesteak, the restaurant is mixing things up. New changes include cooking the steak, onions, and cheese together, rather than layering separately, before serving it on a seeded roll. The "new school" remix is available for a limited time. Philly Launches New System to Track Air Pollution

The Breathe Philly system consists of 76 monitors that measure the city’s air quality across various neighborhoods. Residents can visit the site for information on what to do if the air quality becomes dangerous. [Department of Public Health]

🏆Just like the delayed trash collection, we were delayed in revealing the location of last week’s “Where is It?” (whoops!). Congrats to Joe from Northern Liberties, who correctly guessed that the old Horn and Hardart Automat sign is on Chestnut Street between 8th and 9th streets.
