March 3, 2026 · — Natalia Aldana
Hey there, my smart and cultured friends! Finally, we’re getting some sort of a break in this economy: The Philadelphia Museum of Art is bringing back its pay-what-you-wish admission on Friday evenings 🤓
The museum said it’s hoping the “Independent Fridays” program removes the barrier of a $30 admission price for people wanting to explore the museum. This special admission program begins April 10 and is expected to last five months 🖼️

Philly Bus Stop Distance is Shortest in U.S.
As anyone who rides the bus knows, SEPTA stops at just about every block. No wonder Philly has been found to have the shortest distance between bus stops compared to other large U.S. cities, averaging just 564 feet. While this can maximize access for riders, it can slow service and increase operating costs. SEPTA is expected to release a bus network redesign plan this year. [Axios]
City Opening More Shelters To Combat Homelessness
Philadelphia is planning to add 1,000 new shelter beds, upgrade existing shelters, and improve conditions in a push to achieve “a functional zero in homelessness” so no one who is seeking shelter will be turned away. This increase will bring the city’s total shelter count to about 3,900. The initiative will begin by converting a building in Logan to create 350 beds. [Billy Penn]
